Use this PowerPoint template to start a new presentation

You can use the 3-D shapes and objects template that you downloaded as the starting point for a new presentation. If you have to apply this template to a new presentation at a later date, do the following:

  1. Click the Microsoft Office Button Button image, and then click New.
  2. In the New Presentation dialog box, under Templates, click My Templates.
  3. On the My Templates tab, click the template titled "3-D shapes and objects for PowerPoint slides," and then click OK.

     Tip   You may want to use only a few of the slides from the template in your brand new presentation. To remove the other slides from your presentation, press and hold CTRL, click the slides that you don't want, and then press DELETE.

 Note   After you download the template, it should open as a new presentation that you can immediately start working with.

Add slides from this template to an existing presentation

You can add any of the slides from the 3-D shapes and objects template to an existing Microsoft Office PowerPoint 2007 presentation either by copying and pasting slides from the template into your presentation or by inserting the slides directly into your presentation.

Copy and paste these slides into your presentation

  1. Open this template, named "3-D shapes and objects for PowerPoint slides," from file.

     Note   The default location on your computer to which this template is downloaded is C:\Users\[user name]\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Templates. If you downloaded the template to a different location on your computer, open the template from there.

  2. In the pane that contains the Outline and Slides tabs, click the Slides tab.
  3. Select the slide or slides that you want to copy from this template by doing one of the following:
    • To select a single slide, click it.
    • To select multiple sequential slides, click the first slide, press SHIFT, and then click the last slide that you want to select.
    • To select multiple nonsequential slides, press CTRL, and then click each slide that you want to select.
  4. Right-click one of the selected slides, and then click Copy.
  5. In the destination presentation, on the Slides tab, right-click the slide that you want your copied slides to follow, and then click Paste.

    To keep the slide effect and background design of the copied slides, click the Paste Options button Button image, which appears near the pasted slides on the Outline or Slides tab in Normal view, or in the Slides pane, and then click Keep Source Formatting.

Insert these slides into your presentation

  1. Open the presentation that you want to add a slide to.
  2. In the pane that contains the Outline and Slides tabs, click Slides, and then click where you want to add a slide.
  3. On the Home tab, in the Slides group, click New Slide, and then click Reuse Slides.
  4. In the Reuse Slides pane, click Open a PowerPoint File.
  5. In the Browse dialog box, locate and select this template that you downloaded, named "3-D shapes and objects for PowerPoint slides," and then click Open.

     Note   The default location on your computer to which this template is downloaded is C:\Users\[user name]\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Templates. If you downloaded the template to a different location on your computer, open the template from there.

  6. In the Reuse Slides pane, do one of the following:

     Note   If you want the slide that you are adding to the destination presentation to maintain the formatting of the original template, select the Keep source formatting check box before you add the slide to the destination presentation.

    • To add a single slide, click the slide.
    • To add all of the slides, right-click any slide, and then click Insert All Slides.
