Use this procedure after you insert an Object Linking and Embedding (OLE) (OLE: A program-integration technology that you can use to share information between programs. All Office programs support OLE, so you can share information through linked and embedded objects.)
object (object: A table, chart, graphic, equation, or other form of information. Objects created in one application, for example spreadsheets, and linked or embedded in another application are OLE objects.), such as a Microsoft Office Excel worksheet, in your presentation by clicking the Insert Object command.
To set up an OLE
object
to run during a presentation, do the following:
- On the slide, select the icon or link
to the OLE object that you want to open.
- On the Insert tab, in the Links group, click Action.
- Do one of the following:
- To click the embedded icon or link in order to open the program, click the Mouse Click tab.
- To move the mouse pointer over the embedded icon or link in order to open the program, click the Mouse Over tab.
- On either tab, click Object action, and then type the path to the program (.exe) file that you want to open, or click Browse to search for it.
