Highlight a specific slide by using a transition effect, or illustrate an important point by having the text "fly in" from one side. Try to pick effects that complement or enhance the ideas in your presentation. Do not overuse; too many effects can be a distraction for your audience. Effects are best used to focus attention on a few specific areas.
