You've probably seen animated GIFs if you've browsed the World Wide Web. These files contain a series of GIF (Graphics Interchange Format) images that are displayed in rapid sequence to produce an animated effect.
Animated GIFs can be used in Microsoft PowerPoint® 2000 presentations to add emphasis, interest, and instructional value to your ideas. Animated GIFs play automatically during a slide show. When you are working on a presentation - for example, in Normal view or Slide Sorter view - the animated GIFs appear as static pictures.
Animated GIFs also play if you publish your presentation as a Web page and view it in a Web browser. If you are developing your own animated GIFs, you can create them once and use them in a presentation, on a Web page, or both.
