Troubleshoot diagrams and organization charts

ShowI can't drag a section of a diagram to move it.

To move a section of a diagram, select the section of the diagram that you want to move. On the Diagram toolbar, click Move Shape Forward or Move Shape Backward to manipulate the segments.

ShowWhen I try to make the canvas smaller, my diagram gets smaller.

To make the canvas fit tightly around your diagram, on the Diagram toolbar, click Layout, and then click Fit Diagram to Contents.

ShowThe Select Branch command is grayed out.

In order to use the Select commands (for example, Select Branch), you must first select a shape in the organization chart.

ShowWhere is the Delete Shape command?

To delete a shape in an organization chart or diagram, select the shape and press DELETE or right-click and click Delete.

ShowWhat happened to the old Organization Chart tool?

The new Organization Chart toolbar is available from the same menu (Insert menu, Picture command) as in previous versions of Microsoft Office. Organization charts created with the old tool are converted automatically when they are inserted.
