Text in my printed presentation looks different than it does onscreen

Applies to: Microsoft Office PowerPoint 2003

Applies to
Microsoft Office PowerPoint® 2003

Symptoms

A typeface (or font (font: A graphic design applied to all numerals, symbols, and alphabetic characters. Also called type or typeface. Arial and Courier New are examples of fonts. Fonts usually come in different sizes, such as 10 point, and various styles, such as bold.)) in your printed PowerPoint presentation is not the same one that you see when you look at the document on the computer screen.

Cause

Some fonts that can be displayed on the computer screen are not available in print form. When this happens, the printer automatically substitutes other fonts.

Resolution

Do either of the following:

For more information about recognizing and using TrueType fonts, see Microsoft Windows Help. (On the Windows Start menu, click Help and Support.)

  • Use a printer font that has a matching Microsoft Windows screen font.
