Set or change page margins on a slide

Text on your PowerPoint slide lives inside text boxes or shapes. If you’re wondering how to change the margins between your text and the edge of the text box or shape, you’re in the right place.

  1. Right-click the border of the shape or text box whose margin you want to adjust, and then click Format Shape.
  2. On the right side of the PowerPoint window, click Text Options, and then click Textbox.

  3. Use the up and down arrows or type the measurements you want into the margin boxes. You’ll see the margins change in your presentation as you do so. Check Wrap text in a shape for text to appear on multiple lines.
