Let's say that, a few days after you've copied the org chart slide to your presentation, your manager, Amy, decides to change the content on that slide in the library. She needs to add the name of a new vice president. She opens the library and scrolls to the slide. Then she displays the menu for the slide, which has a range of commands, including Edit in Microsoft Office PowerPoint. She clicks that, and the slide opens in PowerPoint 2007. Amy makes her changes, saves the slide, and sees it automatically update in the library. Click Play to see an animation that shows this.
Note Whether you or someone else is editing a slide in the library, be aware of the checkout process: If you're going to be working on a slide for longer than a few minutes, it's a good idea to check it out of the library before you edit it. See the course SharePoint document libraries II: All about checkout for a full treatment of checking out items from a library.
