Create a footnote

You can call out information in your presentation with footnotes. For example, you can use a footnote to explain a bullet point on a slide or to cite a resource you've used to compile information in your presentation.

Add a footnote to a single slide

  1. Select the slide that you want to add the footnote to.
  2. On the Insert menu, click Text Box.
  3. Click the slide where you want to add the footnote, type or paste your text, and then format the text as needed.

Add a footnote to all slides

ShowUsing the slide master

  1. On the View menu, point to Master, and then click Slide Master.
  2. On the Insert menu, click Text Box. (Or, you can use the existing footer text box for the footnote.)
  3. Click the slide where you want to add the footnote, type or paste your text, and then format the text as needed.

ShowUsing a footer

  1. On the View menu, click Header and Footer.
  2. On the Slide tab, select the Footer check box, and then type your text.
  3. Click Apply to All.
