Delete an attachment
 

ShowDelete an attachment from the Attachments line

  1. Right-click the attachment.
  2. On the shortcut menu, click Remove.

Note  In a message you are creating, you can click the attachment, and then press DELETE.

ShowDelete an attachment from the message body

  1. Click the attachment.
  2. Press DELETE.

Note  Alternatively, if the message is in Rich Text format, you can place the cursor to the right of the attachment, and then press BACKSPACE twice.

ShowDelete an image from an HTML message body

  1. On the Edit menu, click Edit Message.
  2. In the message body, click the image.
  3. Press DELETE.

Notes

  • If the message is in HTML format, attachments appear in the Attachments line, located below the Subject line. If the message is in Rich Text format, attachments appear in the body of the message.
  • You can reduce the size of your mailbox by following the steps above to delete attachments from messages you have received. You may want to save file attachments on your computer before deleting them from Microsoft Outlook.
