Prevent specific capitalization and spelling corrections
 

If Microsoft Word is your e-mail editor, see Word Help. Word offers more customization options for AutoCorrect.

  1. On the Tools menu, click Options, and then click the Spelling tab.
  2. Click AutoCorrect Settings.
  3. Click Exceptions.
  4. Do one or more of the following to prevent AutoCorrect from:

    ShowCapitalizing a word you type after a specific abbreviation

    • Click the First Letter tab, and then type the abbreviation (including the period) in the Don't capitalize after box.

    ShowCorrecting a word that contains mixed uppercase and lowercase letters

    • Click the INitial CAps tab, and then type the word in the Don't correct box.

  5. Click Add, and then click Close.
