I can't copy or move the Search Folder.
Search Folders are virtual folders that contain views of e-mail items
satisfying specific search criteria. Because the items are not actually saved in the Search Folder, the items cannot be copied or moved.
However, you can select the items within a Search Folder and copy or move them
to another Microsoft Outlook folder.
My e-mail messages disappear from Outlook when I delete
them from the Search Folder.
Deleting an e-mail message from a Search Folder removes the e-mail message from the Microsoft Outlook folder where it is stored. You may be able to recover your deleted e-mail message from the Deleted Items folder. If you are using a Microsoft Exchange Server e-mail account, you can use the Recover Deleted Items feature.
My e-mail messages were not deleted when I deleted the Search Folder.
When you delete a Search Folder, the e-mail messages shown in it are not deleted, because the items are never saved, only viewed, in a Search Folder. However, opening or selecting one or more e-mail messages shown in a Search Folder, and then deleting the e-mail messages will delete them from the Microsoft Outlook folder where they are stored.
The Criteria button is not available when I try to customize a Search Folder.
Criteria can only be changed for custom Search Folders or any predefined Search Folder that requires you to enter criteria data. For example, the Mail with specific words Search Folder template requires you to enter words to search for. Therefore, when you try to customize the Search Folder, the Criteria button is available.
Some Search Folders do not require you to enter any data such as Mail sent directly to me. This Search Folder uses the criteria of e-mail messages matching your name or e-mail address on the To or Cc line. You cannot change the criteria for this Search Folder because you would no longer be searching for messages sent directly to you.
