Watch this: Delay sending e-mail messages

Bruce Keever
Outlook Writer

The ease and speed of the Send button could lead to some embarassing moments.

At one time or another, we have all had Send button remorse. A time sensitive message you were preparing in advance was accidentally sent early — surprise spoiled.

Or, you send an e-mail message and as soon as you click Send, you realize that you made a mistake or perhaps you should have worded something more diplomatically.

You can delay the delivery of an individual e-mail message. You can also give yourself a few minutes to act after you click Send by using an Outlook rule to delay the delivery of all messages by having them held in the Outbox for a specified time.
