My e-mail still goes to Outlook Express instead of Outlook

Applies to
Microsoft Office Outlook® 2003
  1. If you haven't already done so, you need to add your e-mail account in Outlook and check the settings to make sure they are correct.

    ShowHow?

See the following: Connect Outlook to your Internet e-mail account
  2. Make Outlook your default e-mail program.

    ShowHow?

See the following: Make Outlook the default program for E-mail, Contacts, and Calendar.

Note  This step is not required, but is recommended if you always want Outlook to be the e-mail program used for features such as Send To from the File menu of Microsoft Excel and Word. The Send To command allows you to send a workbook, worksheet, or document by way of your default e-mail program. For more information, see: Send a workbook or worksheet in e-mail.

  3. Remove your account information in Outlook Express.

    ShowHow?

    1. Start Outlook Express.
    2. On the Tools menu, click Accounts.
    3. Click the Mail tab, and then click the account that you want to remove.
    4. Click Properties and write down all the account information that you see, in case you ever want to reconnect this account to Outlook Express.
    5. Click OK, and then click the account that you want to remove.
    6. Click Remove, and then click Yes.
    7. Exit Outlook Express, and then start Outlook.
