Copy individual names stored in a Personal Folders file (.pst) into my Contacts folder

Applies to
Microsoft Office Outlook® 2003

The easiest way to copy contact names kept in a Personal Folders file (.pst) into your Contacts folder is to open the .pst in Outlook and then drag names from its folder into the Contacts folder.

  1. On the File menu, point to Open, and then click Outlook Data File.
  2. Locate your .pst file, click it, and then click OK to open it.
  3. On the Go menu, click Folder List.
  4. Scroll down to the bottom of the Folder List to locate your .pst folder, for example, MyChoralContacts. You may need to click the plus sign next to the folder to reveal its contents.
  5. Click the contact you want to include in an address book, and then while holding down the CTRL key, click and drag the contact into the Contacts folder. By following this process, you copy the contact instead of moving it.
  6. When you are finished copying contacts, right-click the MyChoralContacts folder, and then click Close "MyChoralContacts".
  7. Click the Contacts folder, and then locate the contacts you copied to it.

Note  To select all the contacts in a folder, click any contact, and then press CTRL+A. To select several contacts at the same time, hold down CTRL and click each individual contact.
