Get reminders in Outlook for Microsoft Project tasks

Applies to
Microsoft Outlook® 2000

Did you know that you could receive Outlook reminders for Microsoft Project tasks? For example, if you're managing a project, you can set reminders for tasks in the project file, and the tasks will automatically be added to your Outlook task list. Unlike when you set reminders in Outlook, when you set a reminder in Microsoft Project you can specify whether you want to be reminded at the start or the finish of a task.

Important   This procedure requires Microsoft Exchange Server.

Set reminders for Microsoft Project tasks

  1. In Microsoft Project, open the project file and select the tasks for which you want reminders.
  2. On the Tools menu, point to Workgroup, and then click Set Reminder.
  3. Set the reminder criteria you want. You can specify that you want to be reminded either minutes, hours, days, or weeks ahead. You can also specify whether you want to be reminded of the task's start date or finish date.

The tasks you've selected are automatically added to your Outlook task list, and you'll receive reminders for them.
