Note    This article applies to the Corporate or Workgroup configuration of Outlook 2000. If you're not sure what configuration you have, on the Help menu, click About Microsoft Outlook to check.

If you are using Microsoft Windows® Millennium Edition, you should use a different fax solution. Microsoft Fax is not included with Windows ME, and was not designed for, or tested with that version of Windows. If you try to install Microsoft Fax from the Windows98 CD (awfax.exe), Windows ME will not allow the setup to continue and will warn you that the files are not designed or tested for Windows ME.

Outlook 2000 will automatically configure itself to work with Microsoft At Work fax (also called Microsoft Fax) if you install Outlook 2000 on a computer that has At Work fax installed.

If At Work fax doesn't work for you, here's all you need to do:

• If you're using Microsoft Windows 98, you'll need to add At Work fax from your Windows 98 compact disk. Uninstall Outlook. Then, from the \Tools\Oldwin95\Message\Us folder on your Windows 98 CD, install both Microsoft Fax (Awfax.exe) and Windows messaging (Wms.exe). Then re-install Outlook 2000.
• If you're using Microsoft Windows 95, uninstall Outlook 2000, install Microsoft At Work fax, and then re-install Outlook 2000. For information on how to install At Work fax on computers using Windows 95, see Windows Help.

When At Work fax is installed, the Outlook Help menu is updated to include At Work fax Help.
