The paragraph symbol button
on your Outlook Standard toolbar is used to show or hide the formatting marks
and spacing of paragraphs within the body of an e-mail message when you are using Microsoft Office Word 2003 as your e-mail editor.
- On the Standard toolbar, click Show/Hide
.
Don't see a paragraph symbol button?
If you don't see the paragraph symbol button on your toolbar, it might be for one of the following reasons:
Word isn't selected as your e-mail editor
The paragraph formatting symbol is available only when you are composing a message and using Word as your e-mail editor.
- In the main Outlook window, on the Tools menu, click Options, and then click the Mail Format tab.
- Under Message format, select the Use Microsoft Office Word 2003 to edit e-mail messages check box.
All the Standard toolbar buttons aren't displayed
Sometimes toolbars don't completely fit at the top of a message, and the buttons that you use less frequently are grouped together under Toolbar Options
at the end of their respective toolbars.
- On the Standard toolbar, click Toolbar Options
, and then click Show/Hide
.

Toolbar Options to find the buttons that you use less frequently.

Click the paragraph symbol to add the button to the
Standard toolbar.
