Business Contact Manager for Microsoft Office Outlook 2003 is an add-in designed to help small business owners, sales people, and employees manage their business contacts and sales opportunities effectively.

You can store business information such as attachments, pictures, business notes, and product information in Outlook 2003. In this way, you can easily integrate business contact information with appointments, tasks, reminders, and other Office programs such as Microsoft Office Excel 2003. You can also run reports using Business Contact Manager.

  • Microsoft Office Small Business Edition 2003
  • Microsoft Office Professional Edition 2003

How to install Business Contact Manager for Outlook 2003

Complete the following steps to install Business Contact Manager for Outlook 2003:

 Tip   For information about installing Business Contact Manager for Outlook 2007, see Install Business Contact Manager for Outlook 2007.

  1. Insert the Business Contact Manager for Microsoft Office Outlook 2003 CD.
  2. In the Setup Wizard, click Install Office Outlook with Business Contact Manager.
  3. Follow the instructions in the Business Contact Manager Setup Wizard to complete the installation.
  4. Open Outlook 2003, and choose the Outlook profile you want to work with Business Contact Manager.

 Tip   A Business Tools menu is included in the Outlook menu bar when Business Contact Manager is installed.

 Notes 

  • For information about how to enable, uninstall, or solve other installation issues, see Troubleshoot installing Business Contact Manager for Outlook 2003.
  • You must create a Business Contact Manager database in order to complete the installation of Business Contact Manager. You will be prompted to create a database when you first open Outlook 2003 after you install Business Contact Manager. If you are not prompted to create a database, Business Contact Manager is not enabled. See the Troubleshoot installing Business Contact Manager topic for information about how to enable Business Contact Manager.
  • Outlook 2003 must be installed before installing Business Contact Manager.
  • Outlook 2003 with Business Contact Manager is compatible with HTTP-based and Post Office Protocol (POP) e-mail accounts, Microsoft Small Business Server, and hosted Microsoft Exchange servers only. For more information, see Use Business Contact Manager with Exchange server.
