You can use the New Contact from Same Company feature to reduce time and effort when adding multiple contacts from the same company or other organization that shares the same basic contact information among its members.
After you have entered the contact information for one contact from a company, it becomes a "template" on which other contacts can be based. You can do this with contacts that people send to you, too.
Note This feature works with any contacts that have information in common; the contacts do not specifically need to be part of a company or other organization.
The contacts that you create from this template contact will contain information from the following contact form (contact form: A view of an individual contact that contains all the information stored in the contact.) fields (if included in the template contact):
- Web page address
- Business phone number
- Business Fax number
- Business address
After creating a new contact from the template, you can personalize the rest of the information as necessary for each individual. The contacts will be automatically saved in the same folder as the original contact.
Create a new contact from the same company
- Open the contact you want to use as a template.
- On the Contact tab, click the arrow next to Save and New, and then click New Contact from Same Company.
- Add information specific to the new contact.
- Click Save and Close.
