Check spelling

You can manually check spelling in an open item. In Microsoft Outlook 2003, items can also be automatically spell checked before they are sent.

Check spelling now in the item that's currently open

  1. Click in the body of the item.
  2. On the Tools menu, click Spelling.
  3. When a word is selected, choose the options you want.

Automatically check spelling when sending any item

  1. From the main Microsoft Outlook window, on the Tools menu, click Options, and then click the Spelling tab.
  2. Select the Always check spelling before sending check box.

 Note   Any words you add during a spelling check are placed in the custom dictionary, called Custom.dic.
