When you cancel a recurring meeting, all meetings in the series are removed from everyone’s calendar—past and future. It’s a good idea to cancel the entire meeting series only before the meetings begin. Any meeting agendas, notes, or attachments saved with any meeting in the series are also deleted.
- On the Navigation Bar (Navigation Bar: Commands at the bottom of the Outlook window that enable you to quickly navigate to Mail, Calendar, People, and Tasks.), click Calendar.
- Click any meeting in the series, but don’t open it.
- Click Meeting Series > Cancel Meeting > Cancel Series.
- Type a message to let the attendees know why the meeting is cancelled. It’s not necessary, but it helps to avoid confusion.
- Click Send Cancellation.
Only the meeting organizer—the person who sends a meeting request—can send a meeting update or a cancellation.
To cancel all remaining meetings that are part of a recurring series, see Cancel all future meetings in a series. To cancel just one meeting in the series, see Cancel one meeting in a recurring series.
