Add or remove a flag

Do one of the following:

ShowAdd a flag

  1. In the message or contact (contact: Person, inside or outside of your organization, about whom you can save several types of information, such as street and e-mail addresses, telephone and fax numbers, and Web page URLs.), click Follow Up Button image.
  2. In the Flag to list, select the text you want, or type your own.
  3. In the Flag color list, select the color flag you want.

 Note   The Flag color option is not available for contacts.

  1. Enter a date and time in the Due by boxes.

ShowTip

To quickly flag a message or messages, select the messages, and then press INSERT.

ShowAutomatically add a flag using a rule

  1. On the Tools menu, click Rules and Alerts.
  2. Click New Rule.
  3. Under Step 1: Select a template, click Flag messages from someone with a colored flag.
  4. Click Next.
  5. Follow the instructions in the Rules Wizard.

If you want to run a newly created rule on messages already in the Inbox, select the Run this rule now on messages already in Inbox check box on the last page of the Rules Wizard.

To have this rule apply to all your accounts and each Inbox, select the Create this rule on all accounts check box on the last page of the Rules Wizard.

ShowRemove a flag

ShowAutomatically remove flags on messages sent to me

  1. On the Tools menu, click Rules and Alerts.
  2. Click New Rule.
  3. Click Start from a blank rule.
  4. Under Step 1: Select when messages should be checked, click Check messages when they arrive, and then click Next.
  5. Under Step 1: Select condition(s), select flagged for action.
  6. Click action, and then click the Flag you want.

To clear all flags, click Any.

  1. Click OK, and then click Next.
  2. Under Step 1: Select action(s), click clear the Message Flag, and then click Next.
  3. Follow the instructions in the Rules Wizard.

If you want to run a newly created rule on messages already in the Inbox, select the Run this rule now on messages already in Inbox check box on the last page of the Rules Wizard.

To have this rule apply to all your accounts and each Inbox select the Create this rule on all accounts check box on the last page of the Rules Wizard.
