Managing Clip Organizer

Microsoft Office XP Clip Organizer allows users to organize all of their clip art from various sources and find the art they need. In this version, users can also retrieve new clip art from the World Wide Web by using the Design Gallery Live Online collection (under Web Collections in the Clip Organizer). The Design Gallery Live Online option opens a list of media that are available from the Microsoft Web site. Users can select the media that they want, and then use the media just as they would any other installed clips.

Note    Users can also access their Web Collections, including Design Gallery Live Online, by performing a Search from within the Office applications. For more information about controlling Microsoft Office XP Search options, see Managing Office XP Search in the Office XP Resource Kit.

You can control several options for the Clip Organizer by using system policies. For example, you can disable the Design Gallery Live Online link from Clip Organizer, or specify a different URL to use instead of the default URL. To specify Clip Organizer options, you set system policies in the Microsoft Clip Organizer 2002 policy template. If you are concerned about restricting Web access from the Clip Organizer, you can set the following policies:

Disable Clips Online access from Clip Organizer

Clip Organizer Online URL

Disable menu item: Tools | Tools on the Web

Hide 'Web Collections'

For more information about using system policies to control user options, see Using System Policies in the Office XP Resource Kit.
