Supplemental Documentation
 

The Microsoft Office XP Resource Kit includes a collection of supplemental documents (orkdocs.exe) that provide detailed information on such areas as registry settings, international configurations, and the Office XP file list. You can find this downloadable file on the Office XP Resource Kit Downloads page.

The supplemental documents are installed by default when you run the Office Resource Kit Setup program. Setup organizes the documents into four folders, accessible with the rest of the Office Resource Kit components from the Windows Start menu. The documents are also available for download from the Office Resource Kit Web site.

The following tables list the documents and other files available from each of the folders.

Customizable Alerts

The Customizable Alerts folder contains sample and support files you can use to create or extend custom error messages.

The Customizable Alerts documents are automatically installed on your computer when you install the Office Resource Kit. To locate the documents, click the Start button, point to Programs, point to Microsoft Office Tools, point to Microsoft Office XP Resource Kit Documents, and then click Customizable Alerts. The computer will then display a folder containing the files and documents.

Help On the Web

The Help on the Web folder contains samples and other files you can use to customize the Answer Wizard feedback form.

The Help On the Web documents are automatically installed on your computer when you install the Office Resource Kit. To locate the documents, click the Start button, point to Programs, point to Microsoft Office Tools, point to Microsoft Office XP Resource Kit Documents, and then click Help On the Web. The computer will then display a folder containing the files and documents.

Install the Supplemental Documentation

The International Information folder contains reference files that provide information on international versions of Office XP.

Intlimit.xls Lists the limitations of plug-in language compatibility by component.
Multilpk.xls Lists components of the Multilingual User Interface Pack and the Proofing Tools Kit by language.
Wwfeatre.xls Lists the effect of various language settings on each Office application.
Wwsuppt.xls Lists support, by language of operating system, of different language features of Office applications.

The International Information documents are automatically installed on your computer when you install the Office Resource Kit. To locate the documents, click the Start button, point to Programs, point to Microsoft Office Tools, point to Microsoft Office XP Resource Kit Documents, and then click International Information. The computer will then display a folder containing the files and documents.

Office Information

The Office folder contains a variety of support files such as the product file list, comprehensive registry key list, and list of all entry points to the Web from within Office XP applications.

Cfgquiet.ini Contains default settings for the Microsoft Office Server Extension log file.
Filelist.xls Lists all files provided with Office XP.
Formats.doc Lists supported data formats and installed OLE DB providers.
IE5feats.xls Lists the Office XP features that degrade when used with previous versions of Microsoft Internet Explorer.
Opc.doc Explains the syntax in files used by the Removal Wizard so that administrators can customize the removal of applications.
Presbrod.xls Lists and describes registry entries that can be set on client computers to specify default values and restrictions for using Presentation Broadcasting.
Regkey.xls Lists default registry key values.
Setupref.doc Lists Office Setup command-line options, properties, and settings file formats.
Stopword.doc Contains the list of words not indexed by the Find Fast utility.
Webent.xls Lists all entry points to the Web from within Office and describes how to disable them.
