Review flagged notes

Use the options in the Note Flags Summary task pane to search for note flags in selected pages, sections, and folders, or in your entire notebook. You can group the results by criteria and click flagged items in the list to jump to the associated pages in your notebook. You can also save a list of all items to a summary page for further review and follow-up.

  1. On the Standard toolbar, click Note Flags Summary Button image.
  2. In the Note Flags Summary task pane, do any of the following:
    • In the Search box, click the location of the flagged notes that you want Microsoft Office OneNote 2003 to display in the task pane (for example, "My entire notebook").
    • In the Group note flags by box, specify how you want to group the flagged notes.
    • To update the list of flagged notes, click Refresh Results.
    • To collapse or expand a group, click the group headings in the list of flagged notes.
    • To jump to a flagged note's location in your notes, click the flagged note in the list.
    • To create a new page based on the flagged notes that are shown in the task pane, click Create Summary Page.

The summary can be moved to another location in your notebook, pasted into other documents on your computer, and shared with others by printing the list or by sending it in an e-mail message.

Notes

  • If you want the Note Flags Summary task pane to display only those To Do items that you have not yet followed up on, select the Show only unchecked items check box.
  • When you create a summary page, only items that are currently visible in the task pane list are included. For example, if you hide certain notes by collapsing their headings, they will not be displayed in the summary page.
  • By default, dimmed note flags are not included in the Note Flags Summary task pane unless you choose to display them. To do this, on the Tools menu, click Options, and then, in the Note Flags category in the Options dialog box, select the appropriate check box.
