- By default, Microsoft Office OneNote 2003 does not search folders and sections that are stored in remote locations, such as shared folders on a network, because it can result in slower searches. To include remote folders or sections when you search, click Options on the Tools menu, and then in the Category list in the Options dialog box, click Other. Clear the Enhance search performance by skipping shortcuts to sections and folders that are stored remotely check box.
