Create DNS records at Yahoo! Small Business for Office 365

Caution    If you’re using Office 365 Small Business, we recommend that you choose to have Office 365 manage your DNS records. No matter which Office 365 plan you use, if you manage your DNS records at Yahoo! Small Business, there are significant service limitations, and you may want to switch to different DNS hosting provider:

  • The Yahoo! Small Business website doesn’t support SRV records or TXT records, which means several Lync Online, Exchange Online, and Outlook Web App features won’t work.

If you choose to manage your own Office 365 DNS records at Yahoo! Small Business despite the service limitations, here’s how to set them up:

If you’ve closed Office 365, start by gathering the information you need to create Office 365 DNS records.

Note    Typically it takes about 15 minutes for DNS changes to take effect. However, it can take up to 72 hours for a changed record to propagate through the DNS system. If you’re having trouble adding DNS records, see Troubleshoot issues after changing your domain name or updating DNS records.
