Are you trying to find a document or site? Most of your content is just a click or two away. Use the header at the top of a SharePoint or Office 365 site and choose:
- Newsfeed to find conversations about current topics, issues, and trending tags.
- SkyDrive to find documents and other files, along with suggestions for related documents.
- Sites to find sites that have interested you, that are recommended for you, or that you created.

Find your documents in a library
Your SkyDrive Pro library is accessible from the header at the top of SharePoint sites and Office 365 pages. Keep documents, pictures, videos, and other files here, organized into folders that you can define. Documents appear in chronological order by default, but you can re-order them.
SkyDrive Pro is a business-based version of online SkyDrive sites. Your SkyDrive Pro library typically resides in a secure Internet location managed by your organization, or on your organization’s SharePoint servers. You can consult your IT administrator for more information about your company’s setup.

To find documents or other files in your SkyDrive Pro library:
- Click SkyDrive in the header at the top of a SharePoint site or Office 365 page.
You’ll see a list of documents that you’ve added to the site. When you find a document you want to work with, you can double-click the document to open it.
Tip To see document details, click the ellipsis (…) next to the document.
To see details about documents that you’re sharing with others, click the icon in the Sharing column.
Tip To re-order the list so you can find an item more easily, —alphabetically by name, for example—point to a column heading, click the Open Menu arrow, and then click Ascending or Descending.

Find documents and other files that you’re following
One of the easiest ways to keep track of information that’s important to you is to follow relevant documents and files. Documents and other files that you follow are automatically grouped under your followed documents in your SkyDrive Pro library.

To find documents or other files that you’re following, use either of these methods:
- Click SkyDrive in the header at the top of a SharePoint site or Office 365 page, and then click Followed Documents from the Quick Launch on the left.
- Click Newsfeed in the header at the top of a SharePoint site, and then, under I’m following, click the number for documents.
A list of links to documents and other files that you’re following appears under Docs I’m Following, in chronological order by when you started following them.

Find sites that you’re following
An easy way to keep track of sites that interest you is to follow sites. You can quickly access sites that you follow from your Sites page.
To find sites that you’re following, use either of these methods:
- Click Sites in the header at the top of a SharePoint site or Office 365 page.
- Click Newsfeed in the header at the top of a SharePoint site, and then, under I’m following, click the number for Sites.
A list of links to sites that you’re following appears under Sites I’m Following.

Find suggested documents
SharePoint provides suggestions for documents, media, and other files that might interest you. These recommendations may be based on documents, other files, sites, and tags that you follow, and on details from your profile, such as your Ask Me About topics.

To find documents or other files that are recommended for you, use either of these methods:
- Click SkyDrive in the header at the top of a SharePoint site or Office 365 page, and then click Followed Documents from the Quick Launch on the left.
- Click Newsfeed in the header at the top of a SharePoint site, and then, under I’m following, click the number for Documents.
A list of links to recommended documents appears under Suggested documents to follow, next to your list of Docs I’m following. If no documents appear, the system didn’t have enough data on your current activities to make a suggestion. Try following more documents, tags, and sites, and update your profile Ask Me About topics.

Find suggested sites
SharePoint provides suggestions for sites that might interest you. These recommendations may be based on documents and other files, and tags that you follow, and on details from your profile, such as your Ask Me About topics.

Find conversations
From the Search box at the top of your Newsfeed, SkyDrive, or Sites page, you can search for conversations about a topic that interests you or a particular conversation that you want to revisit.

To search for a conversation or conversations on a topic of interest in your newsfeed:
- If you see a #tag that interests you in a conversation, click it to see other conversations that mention that tag.
- To search for conversations about a topic that you isn’t tagged in a conversation, in the Search box at the top of a SharePoint or Office 365 page, type a topic that defines the subject matter you’re looking for. For example, you could enter Contoso sales plan to find conversations that reference the sales plan for a product called Contoso.
- Click the down arrow in the Search box and ensure that Conversations is selected as a scope.
- Click the Search icon or press Enter.
Search results include links to conversations, along with the author’s name, posting date, and a content excerpt for each conversation. If the list is long, you can see more results by clicking the Move to next page icons at the bottom of the page.

Search for content
You can search for content from the Search box at the top of your Newsfeed, SkyDrive, or Sites pages. Results let you preview content items and even update them if your permissions allow.

To search for content on a topic of interest in your newsfeed:
- In the Search this site box at the top of your Newsfeed, SkyDrive, or Sites page, type a topic or tag that defines the subject matter you’re looking for. For example, you could enter Contoso sales plan to find content that references a sales plan for a product called Contoso.
- Click the down arrow in the Search box and select a search scope, such as Everything, Conversations, or This site if present.
- Click the Search icon
or press Enter.
Search results list URLs, author names, publish dates, and content excerpts for each item.
- When results appear, scroll over items that interest you to display the associated information window, where you can take a look inside documents and files, send files as email attachments, open wiki pages, or follow documents, and perform other actions, depending on the content.
If the list is long, you can see more results by clicking the Move to next page icon at the bottom of the page.
