Language and locale
- SharePoint Online is available in 40 languages.
- A locale is a collection of language-related user preferences related to the user's language, environment and cultural conventions.
- In Office 365, the default locale is specified by the global administrator, but does not automatically determine the default language settings for SharePoint Online sites.
Note Some languages are not available in every Office 365 service, which may result in differences between the Office 365 portal and the SharePoint user interface. The language settings in SharePoint do not influence the language of the other services.
Supported languages for components and features of SharePoint Online
The following table includes information about the availability and language support for SharePoint Online in Office 365.
Note Languages that have a Language Interface Pack (LIP) are indicated by an asterisk. In a LIP, only the user interface is translated. Help is not translated; it reverts to the default language for the region or country.
