Customize the header or footer of your public website

A header and footer appear by default on every page of your public website. Social media links and a sign-in link appear in the default header and placeholder text appears in the footer. You can easily change or remove the content in these page elements if you prefer. For example, you might want to add a link to a partner site and include your business address and phone number in the footer. Watch the video below for a quick demo. Change or remove content in the header

You can easily change or remove content in the header on your public website. Here’s what you might want to include in your header:

  • Business address
  • Phone number
  • Business hours
  • Other social links, such as a link to a partner site

To change the content of the header on your public website:

  1. Log on to your public website.
  2. Click Site->Edit site elements.
  3. Locate the header and then select the link, graphic, or text you want to change, or move the cursor to an empty space where you want to add something.
  4. Click the Format Text, Insert Image, or Link tab, depending on what you want to add or change, and use the text editing options to edit, add, or delete, as you normally would.
  5. To customize the Twitter, Facebook, or Sign In links for your business, click Link->Select Link and enter your URL in the text box.

To delete the header from your public website:

  • Select the content and press Delete or use Backspace.

Change or remove the content in the footer

You can change the footer by editing it directly. The default footer that comes with public sites contains placeholder text only. You might want to consider including the following items in the footer:

  • Business address
  • Phone number
  • Business hours
  • Link to a partner site

To change a footer on your public website:

  • Place the cursor in the footer and edit as usual.

To delete the contents of the footer from your public website:

  • Place the cursor in the footer element and delete the text.
