Let's start Word

To use Word, look for the Word icon in the Start menu and click it.

Start Word using the following steps.

1. Display the Start menu.

   

   Click the (Start button).

2. Look for the Word icon.

   

   

   Point to All Programs. Next, point to Microsoft Office, and then click Microsoft Office Word 2007.

3. The startup screen appears, and Word starts.

   

   

Tip: The first time you start Word The first time you start Word, the Microsoft Software License Agreement might appear. In this case, read the license agreement carefully and click the I Accept button.  Note   If you are using a boxed edition, the screen shown and its operation might be different.

Let's quit Word

Let's quit Word using the following steps.

1. Click the button in the upper right of the Word window.

   

   Click the button.

2. Word quits.

Tip: What if the "Do you want to save the changes to Document1?" message is displayed? If you make any change, no matter how small, to a document and click the button, a message box similar to the following one appears. To save the changes, click Yes. To quit without saving the changes, click No. If you clicked the button by mistake, click Cancel.

Tip: What if I click the button by mistake? If you click the button, which is near the button by mistake, the Word window disappears, but Word does not quit. To display the Word window again, click the name of the Word file you want to open in the taskbar.
