Elements of the Excel window

1 Title Bar: Displays the file name of the worksheet that is being edited and the name of the software you are using.
2 Office Button: Click this button when using basic commands, such as New, Open, Save as, Print, and Close.
3 Quick Access Toolbar: Commands that are frequently used, such as Save and Undo, are located here. You can add your favorite commands, too.
4 Ribbon: Commands needed for your work are located here. It is the same as "Menus" or "toolbars" in other software.
5 Edit Window: Shows the worksheet that you are editing. Worksheets are comprised of rows and columns. You can enter or edit data. The worksheet squares are called "cells".
6 Display Buttons: Lets you change the display mode of the worksheet you are editing to fit your needs.
7 Scroll Bar: Lets you change the display position within the worksheet you are editing.
8 Zoom Slider: Lets you change the zoom setting of the worksheet you are editing.
9 Status Bar: Displays information about the worksheet you are editing.

Tip: What is the "Ribbon"?

Doctor The "Ribbon" is the horizontal area, like a ribbon, spread across the top of the Office software when you start Excel. Commands needed for your work are grouped together and located on tabs, such as Home and Insert. You can switch the displayed set of commands by clicking the tabs.
