How can I join the Microsoft Office Marketplace?
The exact terms and conditions can be reviewed on the Requirements and Instructions page. Essentially, we ask only that you create a jump page that meets the Office Marketplace guidelines and agree to provide relevant, legal, reliable, and trustworthy products and services.Is there an opportunity to list my product or service in international markets? Yes. The Office Marketplace is currently available in 19 markets, including the US. You should receive a response from us within approximately ten working days from when you submit an online application.
What are the sources of traffic for Microsoft Office Online? Office Online can be reached directly from Office 2003 applications through promotion in the Task Panes, on the Tools menu, and in the results from Help and search queries. In addition, Microsoft Office Online is promoted on several other Microsoft Web sites.
As a reference, the Microsoft Office Web Site received close to 50 million unique visitors in March 2005.
How can I make sure my listing is easy to find in the Office Marketplace? Be sure to include in your short and long descriptions keywords that customers are likely to use in their search queries. the search initiated from anywhere on Office Online or from within any Office program queries all text in your title, short description, and long description.Will my listing have an expiration date?
Once approved, your listing will be live for one year. To renew your listing for an additional year select the "Renew" option in the Office Marketplace Provider Area. Also, anytime you edit your listing, the expiration date is moved out for one year from the date of your editing request.Do I need to create a jump page and submit an application for each of our products or services , or can they be grouped together on one jump page and/or in one application?
Please submit an application for each distinctive product or service. We prefer that you create a jump page for each distinctive product or service as well. We believe this offers the best customer experience, since customers who are referred to your site will be able to identify the specific service they were looking for quickly (so that higher conversion rates are likely).
If creating multiple jump pages is an unreasonable task for your company, then you may have a few listings that point to a single jump page as long as the value proposition of each product or service is identified clearly. If you offer several similar services or products, please group them in the same application. Products or services that can be located in the same subcategory are considered to be similar.
Will Office Marketplace host my download?
No, If your application is approved, the Office Marketplace will include your listing in our directory, present the description of your product or service, and then provide a link to your company's jump page. If your company offers a download, please show a link to your download on your jump page and provide instructions on how to install and uninstall it.
