Joining a Lync 2010 Online Meeting

Exercise 2: Join a meeting using Lync Attendee or Lync Web App

Now it’s your turn to try things out. Follow these steps to practice joining a meeting using either Lync 2010 Attendee or Lync Web App. You can get the best experience for this exercise if you have a friend or colleague joining the meeting with you. However, you can do this alone.

Note: If you do not have Lync 2010 installed, you can use Lync Attendee, which is a conferencing client that allows you to participate in Lync 2010 online meetings. If your organization’s support team has set up Lync Attendee, when you click the Join online meeting link in an online meeting request, you’ll be prompted to download and install Attendee.

If you have Lync 2010 installed on your computer, it will launch automatically when you click the meeting link. These steps can be performed on a computer that does not have Lync 2010 installed.

Note: You will need a scheduled test meeting on your calendar. If you do not have one, the steps are provided in the course: Scheduling Lync 2010 Online Meetings.

To join a meeting using Lync Attendee, do the following:

  1. Click the Join online meeting link in an online meeting request.
