List of InfoPath sample forms
 

Microsoft Office InfoPath 2003 comes with 25 sample forms. You can use them as is, customize them to suit your needs, or review them to get design and layout ideas for your own forms.

InfoPath also includes four sample forms that are intended for developers and are designed to demonstrate various development techniques for customizing and implementing InfoPath features.

Sample forms

The following table lists the 25 sample forms that come with InfoPath.

Request time away from work and calculate remaining absence balances.

Applicant Rating

Compare job applicants and make hiring recommendations.

Asset Tracking

Track the acquisition date, cost, and location of business assets, such as computer equipment.

Change Order

Specify the changes to existing orders or projects, and track total cost and time adjustments.

Expense Report
(Domestic)

Track and submit business expenses. Use this form when all expenses are incurred in the same currency.

Expense Report
(International)

Track and submit business expenses. Use this form when expenses are incurred in multiple currencies, such as on an international business trip.

Invoice
(Single Tax Rate)

Create an invoice or itemized statement. Each item is taxed at the same rate.

Invoice
(Multiple Tax Rates)

Create an invoice or itemized statement. If necessary, this form allows you to specify different tax rates for different invoice items.

Invoice Request

Request to generate an invoice that describes services rendered or equipment delivered.

Issue Tracking
(Simple)

Track business issues, including progress, contributors, and date closed.

Issue Tracking
(Detailed)

Track business issues, including progress, contributors, date closed, due date, status, and owners for action items.

Meeting Agenda

Organize and summarize a business meeting. You can use the Meeting Agenda view (view: A form-specific display setting that can be saved with a form template and applied to form data when the form is being filled out. Users can switch between views to choose the amount of data shown in the form.) to list the agenda items, time allotments, guest speakers, attendees, and required materials for a meeting. You can use the Meeting Minutes view to record meeting minutes, decisions, and action items.

Performance Review

Provide a consistent way for both an employee and his or her manager to rate and comment on the employee’s performance for a specified time period.

Project Plan

Provide details for a project, including a schedule, work items, materials, and a budget.

Purchase Order

List the total items, total amount due, and required delivery dates for a purchase order, and authorize the delivery of the specified items.

Purchase Request

Create a request for items that need to be purchased.

Résumé

Create a résumé with references that can be easily customized to fit specific jobs without losing or deleting any information entered into the form.

Sales Report

Record monthly sales figures for particular items.

Service Request

Make requests for repairs and services, and track the status of these requests.

Status Report

Track progress and issues for an employee’s projects and assignments. Individual status reports can be combined into a single report, so that you can quickly compare multiple status reports.

Time Card
(Simple)

Track employee work hours, absences, and payroll information.

Time Card
(Detailed)

Track employee work hours, absences, sign-in and sign-out times, and payroll information.

Travel Itinerary

Create a schedule of events for an upcoming business trip. The form can include information about transportation arrangements, appointments, and business contacts.

Travel Request

Request travel arrangements, such as flights and hotel accommodations, for a business trip.

Vendor Information

Describe the products and services provided by a particular vendor, and allow multiple individuals to rate the vendor according to cost, quality, and delivery.

Data Validation

Demonstrates the ways in which data can be validated in a form. Methods covered include schema-based validation, custom validation, and script-based validation.

Events

Events.xsn

Demonstrates the events (event: An action recognized by an object, such as a mouse click or key press, for which you can define a response. An event can be caused by a user action or a Visual Basic statement, or it can be triggered by the system.) that can be used in a form. Events covered include form events, data validation events, and control events.

Structural Editing

CD_Edit.xsn

Demonstrates the ways that a form's source XML document can be edited, and how the editing actions that are available to a user are based on context. Methods covered include field and structural editing, with examples of editing using controls and scripting code.

User Interface

UIBasics.xsn

Demonstrates the ways that a form's user interface can be customized. Methods covered include menu items, toolbars, custom task panes, and custom dialog boxes.
