In this practice session, you'll start designing an InfoPath form based on an XML schema. You'll see how to bring the schema into InfoPath. Then you'll look at the schema as it's represented in the Data Source task pane, and drag groups and fields onto your form.
About the practice session
When you click Practice in InfoPath, a practice form will download to your computer and open in InfoPath, and a separate window with practice instructions will appear alongside (see picture).
Note You need to have InfoPath 2003 installed on your computer.
Tips
- If the practice instructions aren't visible, or disappear when you click in InfoPath, click the InfoPath Help taskbar button and then click the Auto Tile button on the upper-left corner of the instructions.
- If the practice instructions cover up InfoPath, click the Auto Tile button on the upper-left corner of the instructions.
Before you begin
Make sure to close InfoPath if it is already running.
Start the practice
Click the Practice in InfoPath button now.
