Connect a form to a database

Example of Submit button

Add a button to the form to make submitting data easier and more obvious for users.

Imagine that the form template has been published, and you're now in the role of the form user, opening the form to use it.

You've added new data, such as a new supplier and its products and other information, to the form, and now you want to add this information to the database.

Do so by clicking one of these:

  • The Submit button on the Standard toolbar.

Submit button on toolbar

  • The Submit command on the File menu.
  • A Submit button on the form (as shown in the picture). You have to create this button; it's easy to do.

Tip     Because InfoPath stores the data before submitting it to the database, you can enter information into the form — even offline, if you want — and then submit that information to the database when you are ready.
