Now when you save a file you’ll quickly see recent places where you saved Office files and all the places your account, like a Microsoft account, can save files to. This way, your most recently used Office files and folders are always at your fingertips wherever you go.
In the Office Backstage, you can see the places your Microsoft account allows you to save a file to, like your computer, SkyDrive, or SharePoint. Or you can just add a new place by clicking Add a Place.
Tip Change how many unpinned folders you see by clicking File > Options > Advanced. Under Display set the number you want to see in the Show this number of unpinned Recent Folders box. The minimum is zero, the maximum is 20, and the default is five.
If you want to see the Office Backstage, but occasionally want to see the Save As dialog box, you can press F12 instead of Ctrl+S.
Or if you want to go back to using the Save As dialog box, you can by clicking File > Options > Save, and then checking the Don’t show the Backstage when opening or saving files box.
You only have to check this option in one Office program for it to work in all Office programs.
