Merge or split cells in a table
 

Use this process to modify Microsoft PowerPoint tables. Use the source program's (source program: The program used to create a linked object or embedded object. To edit the object, you must have the source program installed on your computer.) Help for information about modifying tables that were created with another program.

  1. If the Tables and Borders toolbar (toolbar: A bar with buttons and options that you use to carry out commands. To display a toolbar, click Customize on the Tools menu, and then click the Toolbars tab.) is not displayed, click Tables and Borders Button image on the Standard toolbar.

  2. Do one of the following:
    • To merge cells, click Eraser Button image, and then click the cell boundaries you want to remove.
    • To split a cell, select the cell, and then click Split Cell Button image.

ShowTip

  • To merge multiple cells, select them and click Merge Cells Button image.
