Wrap text in a shape or text box
Do one of the following: Wrap text as you type
- Do one of the following:
Wrap new text in a text box
- On the Drawing toolbar, click Text Box
.
- Click where you want the box to go, drag it to the size you want, and then type your text.
Wrap new text in an AutoShape
- Click AutoShapes (AutoShapes: A group of ready-made shapes that includes basic shapes, such as rectangles and circles, plus a variety of lines and connectors, block arrows, flowchart symbols, stars and banners, and callouts.), click a category, and then click the shape you want.
- Click where you want the shape to go, and drag it to the size you want.
- Right-click the AutoShape, click Add Text, and then type your text.
- Double-click the selection rectangle (selection rectangle: A rectangle with sizing handles that surrounds a selected object or objects.) of the AutoShape or text box (text box: A movable, resizable container for text or graphics. Use text boxes to position several blocks of text on a page or to give text a different orientation from other text in the document.), and then click the Text Box tab.
- Select the Word wrap text in AutoShape check box.
Tip To open the Format AutoShape dialog box, right-click the selection box, and then click Format AutoShape. If you are using text boxes, right-click, and then click Format Text Box.
