  1. On the Tools menu, click Add-Ins.
  2. Do one of the following:

  1. Add the COM Add-Ins command to the Tools menu.

    1. On the Tools menu, click Customize, and then click the Commands tab.
    2. In the Categories box, click Tools.
    3. Drag COM Add-Ins from the Commands box to the Tools menu. When the menu commands are displayed, point to the location where you want the COM Add-Ins command to appear on the menu, and then release the mouse button.
    4. Click Close.
  2. On the Tools menu, click COM Add-Ins.
  3. Do one of the following:

COM add-ins can run in one or more Office programs. COM add-ins use the file name extension .dll or .exe.) are typically used by developers.
