Customize a shortcut menu
 

You can rearrange and modify toolbar buttons, menus, and menu commands by using the mouse or you can use the Rearrange Commands dialog box which is accessible using a keyboard menu. These tasks are identified as (keyboard accessible).

You can't add, delete, or reset a shortcut menu (shortcut menu: A menu that shows a list of commands relevant to a particular item. To display a shortcut menu, right-click an item or press SHIFT+F10.) in Microsoft Office. However, you can modify a command image, rename a command, display an icon and text for a command, and move or copy commands to or from a shortcut menu just as you can for any other menu in Office.

  1. On the Tools menu, click Customize.
  2. Do one of the following:

    ShowDelete a command from a shortcut menu

    1. In the Customize dialog box, click the Toolbars tab.
    2. Under Toolbars, select the Shortcut Menus check box.
    3. Click a category on the Shortcut Menu toolbar, and then click the shortcut menu that contains the command.

    4. Drag the command off the menu.

    1. In the Customize dialog box, click the Commands tab.
    2. Click Rearrange Commands.
    3. In the Toolbar list, click the shortcut menu you want to change, such as Shortcut Menus|Table|Tables.
    4. In the Controls list, click the command you want to delete.
    5. Click Delete.

    1. In the Customize dialog box, click the Toolbars tab.
    2. Under Toolbars, select the Shortcut Menus check box.
    3. Click a category on the Shortcut Menu toolbar, and then click the shortcut menu you want to modify.

    4. In the Customize dialog box, click the Commands tab.

    5. In the Categories box, click a category for the command.

    6. Drag the command from the Commands box to where you want it to appear on the shortcut menu, and then release the mouse.

    1. In the Customize dialog box, click the Commands tab.
    2. Click Rearrange Commands.
    3. In the Toolbar list, click the shortcut menu you want to change, such as Shortcut Menus|Table|Tables.
    4. In the Controls list, click the command above which you want the new command to appear.
    5. Click Add.
    6. In the Categories box, click a category for the command.
    7. In the Commands box, click the command you want.
