Add a clip to the Clip Organizer
 

Do one of the following:

ShowAdd a media file from your hard disk

  1. On the Insert menu, point to Picture, and then click Clip Art.
  2. At the bottom of the Clip Art task pane (task pane: A window within an Office application that provides commonly used commands. Its location and small size allow you to use these commands while still working on your files.), click Organize clips.
  3. In Clip Organizer, on the File menu, point to Add Clips to Organizer, and then click On My Own.
  4. Locate the folder that contains the clip (clip: A single media file, including art, sound, animation, or movies.) you want to add, and then select the clip.
  5. Click Add to, and then select the collection you want to add the clip to, or click New to create a new folder.
  6. Click Add.

Note  When you add media files, Clip Organizer automatically creates new subcollections in My Collections. These collections are named after the corresponding folders on your hard disk. Clip Organizer also creates search keywords based on the file's extension and folder name so that you can later find your files easily.

ShowAdd an object you created in a Microsoft Office program

  1. Select the picture (picture: A file (such as a metafile) that you can ungroup and manipulate as two or more objects or a file that stays as a single object (such as bitmaps).), WordArt (WordArt: Text objects you create with ready-made effects to which you can apply additional formatting options.), AutoShape, (AutoShapes: A group of ready-made shapes that includes basic shapes, such as rectangles and circles, plus a variety of lines and connectors, block arrows, flowchart symbols, stars and banners, and callouts.) or group of objects you want to save as a clip.
  2. On the Standard toolbar, click Copy Button image.
  3. On the Insert menu, point to Picture, and then click Clip Art.
  4. At the bottom of the Clip Art task pane (task pane: A window within an Office application that provides commonly used commands. Its location and small size allow you to use these commands while still working on your files.), click Organize clips.
  5. Select the collection folder you want to add the clip to.
  6. In Clip Organizer, click Paste Button image.
