If you want to stop a
macro
(macro: An action or a set of actions you can use to automate tasks. Macros are recorded in the Visual Basic for Applications programming language.)
that's currently running, press ESC, and click
End
in

If you want to prevent automatically running a macro when you start Microsoft PowerPoint, hold down SHIFT during startup.
