When you apply a design template (design template: A file that contains the styles in a presentation, including the type and size of bullets and fonts; placeholder sizes and positions; background design and fill color schemes; and a slide master and optional title master.) that includes multiple slide masters (slide master: The slide that stores information about the design template applied, including font styles, placeholder sizes and positions, background design, and color schemes.), you get a message asking if you want all the masters in this template to be available for the presentation. Here are the results if you click Yes or No:

• If you click Yes, the design template you chose is applied to the presentation and the other masters in this template are added to your presentation, though not applied to any slides. The other masters are added in master (master: A slide view or page on which you define formatting for all slides or pages in your presentation. Each presentation has a master for each key component: slides, title slides, speaker's notes, and audience handouts.) view. You can view or apply them from the Slide Design task pane, in the Used in This Presentation section. To display this task pane, click Design on the Formatting toolbar.

  You can delete masters from within master view.

• If you click No, the design template you chose is applied to the presentation but the other masters in the template are not added to the presentation.
