Restoring the blank.pot template after you change the install language

If you change your install language for Office PowerPoint 2003, and you are using the "blank.pot" template for your default presentation design, PowerPoint will not use the template file. You will get a message saying that PowerPoint has renamed the file to "oldblank.pot" and has put it in the location shown, which is the default folder for Office templates. To continue to use this file, do the following:

  1. On the Formatting toolbar, click Design Button image.
  2. In the Slide Design task pane, at the bottom, click Browse.
  3. Go to the folder that the message specified for the renamed file oldblank.pot, select that file, and click Apply.
  4. On the File menu, click Save As.
  5. In the Save as type box, click Design Template, and in the File name box, type blank.pot.
  6. Click Save.

Note  Each time you change the install language, you will have to go through these steps to restore the blank.pot file.
