Troubleshoot photo albums

ShowI inserted a shape to use with a picture in my photo album, but when I clicked update, the shape moved to a slide at the end of my album.

If you insert a shape to use with a picture in your photo album, the shapes are inserted on new slides at the end of the photo album the next time you use the Format Photo Album dialog box and click Update. To preserve a shape with a picture, you can group the shape with the picture if you select the two objects, and then on the Drawing toolbar (toolbar: A bar with buttons and options that you use to carry out commands. To display a toolbar, press ALT and then SHIFT+F10.), click Draw, and then click Group.

Note   You can only group a shape to a picture in a photo album if the picture is already part of a group that includes a caption or a frame shape.

ShowI added a picture to a photo album slide, but now I don't see it in the list of pictures.

If you add a picture to your photo album without using the Format Photo Album dialog box, the next time you use the Format Photo Album dialog box and click Update, the new picture is deleted because it is not recognized as part of the photo album format. Always use the File/Disk and Scanner/Camera buttons in the Format Photo Album dialog box to add new pictures to your photo album.

ShowI deleted a picture from the photo album and now all my pictures are out of order.

If you delete a picture from your photo album without using the Format Photo Album dialog box, the next time you use the Format Photo Album dialog box and click Update, a text box replaces the deleted picture and the order of the pictures adjusts to match the order of the pictures in the Pictures in album list. Use the Remove button in the Format Photo Album dialog box to delete a picture in your photo album.

ShowI rotated a picture, but when I clicked update, it returned to its original position.

If you rotate a picture in your photo album without using the Format Photo Album dialog box, the next time you use the Format Photo Album dialog box and click Update, the picture returns to the position designated in the Pictures in album list. Use the Rotate Left Button image and Rotate Right Button image buttons in the Format Photo Album dialog box to rotate a picture in your photo album.

ShowThe Update button doesn't work in the Format Photo Album dialog box.

You must have at least one picture in a photo album to make updates. You will not be able to make any updates if your photo album contains only text boxes.
