About sending a presentation for review

Microsoft PowerPoint allows you to send a presentation for review so that other people can add comments and make any changes they want to their copies of the presentation. As the author of a presentation, you may want to send your presentation to reviewers online so that you do not have to rely upon a hard copy markup. You can send a presentation for review in PowerPoint using Microsoft Outlook or any other 32-bit e-mail program compatible with the Messaging Application Programming Interface (MAPI), a Microsoft Exchange server or network server, or a disk.

Reviewers can use any version of PowerPoint to review your presentation. As presentations are completed by reviewers and sent back to you, you can combine them with your original copy of the presentation, and then you can use the reviewing tools in PowerPoint to apply reviewer changes.

ShowReviews using Outlook

If you use Outlook as your e-mail program, then you can send a presentation for review in which Outlook automatically tracks changes made by reviewers. When you send a presentation for review using Outlook, a review request e-mail message is automatically created. This message includes an attached copy of the presentation and a follow up flag, as well as a brief text in the body of the message requesting that your presentation be reviewed.

ShowReviews using other e-mail programs, a network server, or disks

You can send a presentation for review if you are not using Outlook as your e-mail program, or you can send a presentation for review using a network server or disks if a reviewer is unable to accept attachments through e-mail. This method requires you to closely manage the review cycle of the presentation because it does not take advantage of the automatic tracking used by Outlook.

ShowPreviews and comments

If you simply want reviewers to preview your presentation or add comments, you can send a presentation as an attachment in an e-mail message. You might also want to send a presentation as an attachment to others who may not have an HTML-compatible e-mail program or access to a share folder on a network server.
