Troubleshoot text and formatting in placeholders

ShowI changed a placeholder on the slide master, but now I want the original placeholder size and position back.

  1. To select the placeholder, click its border, and then press Delete.
  2. On the Format menu, click Master Layout, select the type of placeholder you want to restore (for example, on the slide master, if you deleted the placeholder for body text, you'd select the Text check box), and click OK.

You can restore placeholders in notes master (master: A slide view or page on which you define formatting for all slides or pages in your presentation. Each presentation has a master for each key component: slides, title slides, speaker's notes, and audience handouts.) view and handout master view by clicking Notes Master Layout or Handout Master Layout, respectively, on the Format menu.

ShowI can't get the text in my list to wrap.

  1. Click the text inside the placeholder (placeholders: Boxes with dotted or hatch-marked borders that are part of most slide layouts. These boxes hold title and body text or objects such as charts, tables, and pictures.).
  2. On the Format menu, click Placeholder.
  3. Click the Text Box tab, and then select the Word wrap text in AutoShape check box.

ShowThere's a border around the text on my printed notes page and I want to get rid of it.

  1. On the View menu, click Notes Page.
  2. Click the notes text in the placeholder (placeholders: Boxes with dotted or hatch-marked borders that are part of most slide layouts. These boxes hold title and body text or objects such as charts, tables, and pictures.), and on the Format menu, click Placeholder.
  3. On the Colors and Lines tab, under Line, make sure the Color box is set to No Line.
  4. Under Fill, make sure the Color box is set to No Fill.
